Charming
On arrival we were upgraded to a suite and had the choice of 3rd or 4th floor, we chose the 4th. The room had a lounge area which walked through to the bed area then a step up into the bathroom with a bath which was welcome after a day walking, it was quite a climb to get into the bath, if you had mobility issues this would be a problem. It was my partners favourite breakfast in our 6 week trip of Scandinavia, it was plentiful and the staff were lovely actually all the staff of the hotel were lovely. We loved the ambiance of the breakfast room and the pancakes were a favourite. The hotel was a minutes walk from the train/bus station and shopping centre and public transport was straight out the door. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay in Gotenborg. This hotel has old world charm.

Excellent hotel in Gothenburg; highly recommend!
We loved this hotel. As such, I would rate it as "Excellent" (10)! The staff was extremely friendly and efficient; the room that we booked was spacious, included a balcony looking over the square, a large bathroom with an especially spacious tub; the breakfast offerings were extensive and well prepared. We also liked the environment/"ambiance" of the hotel; i.e., it is "old" and historic, but does not come across as musty/stuffy and has all the modern conveniences that we would want and expect. And speaking of convenient, I should mention that it just across the street from the Central Train Station.
There is nothing that we did not like about this hotel. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Gothenburg, which we would very much like to do given what a great city that it is.
